The “Masseria Montereale” Estate, whose name is thought to refer to a sojourn offered to King Vittorio Emanuele II of Savoia, occupies 70 hectares of typical Mediterranean vegetation with groves of majestic centuries-old olive trees, situated between Cisternino and Ostuni, two delightful towns just by the Valle d’Itria. The fully-functioning farm is surrounded by rural dwellings of special environmental and architectural value, dating back to a period between the 15th and the 19th centuries. Nearby are an old church and a large pinewood. The main building is the manor-house, a historical residence dating back to 1710, which was used as a country house by the present owner’s family. It has very recently been restored thanks to a project supervised by the Cultural Heritage Authorities, and it preserves a number of frescoes and the original furniture.
